  This curricular unit aims at the development of skills in the project area and implementation of information systems and databases.

  Introduction The information system of an organization. Concept of Database and Management System Database. Development of Information Systems. Entity-relationship model Entities and attributes. Types of associations. Relational Model   Notion of relationship, relational databases and relational schema.  Integrity constraints.   Draft Relational Database Mapping entity-relationship diagrams to relational schemas. Standardization.   Relational Algebra SQL Language Defining the structure of databases. Data modification.

  -The design of appropriate information systems to users' needs and objectives of organizational management; -The definition of data models, according to the general principles of database theory and standards; -The definition of a schema of the database and understanding of the basics of the relational model; Computerization is a problem students should be able to: - Designing appropriate information systems to users' needs and objectives of organizational management; - Define a data model, according to the general principles of database theory and standardization; - Define the schema of the database and understand the basics of the relational model;
