Introduction to Law

  It is an introductory subject of the law course, which is extremely important for the understanding of the other subjects of the course, both in the public and private law areas.
• ProgramaProgramme

  1- Introductory notions; 2- Law branches; 3- The codification, advertising and organization of information, databases, codes, notion and characteristics, causes of codification, brief reference to some codes. The Constitution of the Portuguese Republic, Civil Code, Penal Code, others; 4- The legal rule: notion, structure, characteristics, classification; 5- Sources of law: law, custom, use, equity, jurisprudence and doctrine, fundamental principles of law; 6- The philosophical currents of law: jusnaturalism and positivism; 7- Publication of the law and the vicissitudes of the law; 8- Law enforcement over time; 9- Interpretation and integration of legal rules.

  This course aims to provide students with a general understanding of law in the context of the regulation of social life. Provide students with the conceptual knowledge essential to the study of law and its further deepening
