Network and Data Security and IoT

Cybersecurity
  • ApresentaçãoPresentation
The discipline "Network and Data Security and IoT" prepares professionals to secure computer networks and environments involving IoT devices, using tools such as pfSense, Wireshark, and Nmap, as well as the Edge, Fog, and Smog paradigms.  The course operates in the domains of computer network security, IoT infrastructures, and distributed systems administration, and also contributes to the implementation of computational models that promote more secure, efficient, and resilient environments.  The curricular unit is intended for professionals and students who wish to acquire or deepen their skills in data network protection and IoT systems security.

  • ObjectivosObjectives
The discipline aims to provide students with solid knowledge and practical skills in the field of network security and the protection of IoT systems. Throughout the course, students will develop the ability to understand and apply the Edge, Fog, and Smog paradigms in real-world contexts, assessing their impact in terms of latency, scalability, energy consumption, and security. They will also be able to perform detailed network traffic analyses using tools such as Wireshark and Nmap, identifying vulnerabilities, suspicious behavior, and potential threats in connected devices. The training will further enable them to configure segmented and secure networks through the use of firewalls and VLANs in pfSense, strengthening access control and infrastructure protection.
