    Since the completion of the degree in Safety at Work Engineering also allows the student applies for professional certification as a Senior Technical Safety at Work (level 6), since this course is approved by the Authority for Working Conditions, being the subject area of Work Safety one of the key areas, both at the professional profile of Senior Technician SHT, as in the overall context of this degree, the objectives and program content of this Course was in part based on the objectives and issues addressed in part of the syllabus of the Manual of Certification of former IDICT, dated 2001.

    Placement of Work Safety. Risks associated to places and jobs. Manual handling loads. Mechanical handling loads. Risk of contact with electrical power. Isolation of energy sources. The personal protection. Safety and Health signs.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    Objetives: Describe and apply the various diagnostic techniques of accidents risks, associated with the workplaces, manual handling and mechanical handling of loads, fitting with the minimum safety and health requirements of several references, both legal and normative. Implement and operate the processes to control the risk of accidents at work, through specific measures related to the workplace, with the manual handling of loads and the mechanical movement of loads. Describe and apply the specific methodologies for assessing the electrical risks. Implement and operationalize the specific processes to control the electrical risks. Characterize and apply personal protective equipment and describe the various types of personal protective equipment. Describe and apply the safety signs.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    Teaching Method: Bearing in mind the objectives of theoretical and practical course, teaching methods planned are: Lectures for exposition of the subject (lecture method and interrogative) with presentations and discussions by the students (an active and participatory). Presentation of practical examples using dynamic image and group work Presentation of case studies, demonstrations, public presentations of speakers with experience in some of the programmed contents. Assessment method: 2 intermediate tests with a minimum grade of 7.5 values ¿¿and a weighting of 70% in the final grade. 1 Individual assignment with a minimum grade of 12 values ¿¿and a weighting of 30% in the final grade. Period exam with a minimum grade of 9.5.
