    This curricular unit aims to provide its participants with knowledge and tools that enable them to identify and apply analytical and operational techniques, relate the main causes that lead to work accidents. Apply methodologies and techniques to decide on the most appropriate solutions in resolving specific situations involving work risks.

    1. Placement of Work Safety. 2. Risks associated to places and jobs. 3. Manual handling loads. 4. Mechanical handling loads. 5. Risk of contact with electrical power. 6. Isolation of energy sources. 7. The personal protection. 8. Safety and Health signs.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    Objetives: Describe and apply the various diagnostic techniques of accidents risks, associated with the workplaces, manual handling and mechanical handling of loads, fitting with the minimum safety and health requirements of several references, both legal and normative. Implement and operate the processes to control the risk of accidents at work, through specific measures related to the workplace, with the manual handling of loads and the mechanical movement of loads. Describe and apply the specific methodologies for assessing the electrical risks. Implement and operationalize the specific processes to control the electrical risks. Characterize and apply personal protective equipment and describe the various types of personal protective equipment. Describe and apply the safety signs.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    1.Teaching Method: Bearing in mind the objectives of theoretical and practical course, teaching methods planned are: Lectures for exposition of the subject (lecture method and interrogative) with presentations and discussions by the students (an active and participatory). Presentation of practical examples using dynamic image and group work Presentation of case studies, demonstrations. 2. Assessment method: 2 intermediate tests with a minimum grade of 7.5 values ¿¿and a weighting of 100% in the final grade. Period exam with a minimum grade of 9.5.

    Uma nota inferior a 7,5 valores em cada um dos testes escritos;
    Uma média aritmética da soma das notas dos dois testes, inferior a 9,5 valores.
