ApresentaçãoPresentationThis course focuses on the design, development, and presentation of an applied project for creating a company or strategically restructuring a micro or small enterprise, real or simulated, consistent with the Portuguese business landscape. The course operates at the intersection of strategy, operations, finance, marketing, human resources, and management systems. Its scope centres on the ability to diagnose a business situation, define a value proposition and a business model, structure strategic options, and establish mechanisms for monitoring performance. It is an applied course, oriented towards problem-solving, decision-making, and the integration of knowledge.

ProgramaProgrammeFraming the integrative project: purpose of the course, methodology, phases, assessment, and definition of the work object. Diagnosis and management problem: characterisation of the company/context, analysis of the environment, sector, and competition, internal diagnosis, and identification of priorities. Business model, incorporation, and operationalisation: structuring the model, formalisation options, key operations, resources, and value proposition. Integrated strategic formulation: vision, mission, objectives and targets, strategic options, and innovation perspectives. Articulated functional plans: marketing, financial, human resources and organisation, and accounting and tax framework. Risk, control, and management systems: identification and assessment of risks, KPIs, monitoring, and management systems. Consolidation and presentation: final document, oral presentation, defence, and reflection on feasibility.

ObjectivosObjectivesBy the end of the course, students should be able to: Integrate the knowledge from the programme's various courses into a coherent, viable, and strategically grounded business project. Diagnose the needs, constraints, and opportunities for creating or restructuring a micro or small enterprise, combining internal analysis, external context, and critical success factors. Design or reformulate the business model and operational plan. Formulate strategic and operational objectives and translate them into action plans in marketing, finance, HR, taxation, risk, management systems, and innovation. Apply tools of economic-financial analysis, performance control, and risk assessment suited to micro and small enterprises. Produce an integrated, evidence-based strategic plan. Communicate and technically defend the project, with argumentation and critical thinking.

MetodologiaMethodologyThe course should adopt active, integrative methodologies suited to the participants' profile and the programme's practical nature. In a distance format, these should promote collaborative work, guided autonomy, application in real contexts, and continuous feedback. Proposed methodologies: Integrative project-based learning on creating or restructuring a company, as the unifying axis of learning. Applied case studies, using students' real companies or simulated cases. Guidance sessions to cross-link contributions from the different courses. Problem-based learning, solving critical management challenges. Project pitch and defence, with reasoned argumentation and Q&A. Iterative formative feedback, focused on continuous improvement. Use of templates and synthesis tools: diagnostic matrices, business model canvases, action plans, and indicator dashboards.
