ISLA Gaia Charity Tournament Promotes Sport, Citizenship and Social Impact
As part of the curricular unit Sports Activities and Practices I, students from the Professional Higher Technical Course in Sports Activities Management at ISLA Gaia organised a futsal tournament with a charitable purpose: collecting food supplies for animals in need.
The initiative brought together students from different programmes within the institution, in an environment marked by team spirit, sharing, cooperation and fair play. It also reinforced community engagement and the values associated with active citizenship.
In addition to its charitable dimension, the activity provided a highly relevant hands-on learning experience. Students took full responsibility for organising the tournament, from logistical planning to tournament operations, using the Copa Fácil platform to manage teams, schedules and results.
This initiative helped strengthen essential technical and organisational skills in the field of sports management, while also promoting values of social responsibility and community involvement.
The activity proved to be a success, both in terms of the charitable impact achieved and the quality of the organisation. Congratulations to everyone involved, with special recognition to the students of the Professional Higher Technical Course in Sports Activities Management, who embraced this challenge with professionalism, dedication and a strong sense of purpose, applying in a real context the knowledge acquired in the classroom.
