  • ObservaçõesObservations

The Higher Professional Technician course in Quality, Environmental and Safety Management is based on 120 ECTS, with a normal duration of four curricular semesters, which corresponds to 30 ECTS per semester, totaling 750 hours of work per year for the student. The fundamental areas of the course are codes 347 - Company Environment and 682 - Safety and Hygiene at Work, covering a large part of the technical ECTS in the area, with the aim of enhancing training aimed at the exercise of a professional activity, ensuring that students apply the knowledge and know-how acquired to the specific activities of their professional profile. The course also includes an Internship curricular unit (UC) which gives students the chance to complete 600 hours of work-based training (internship) in the area. The organization of the courses breaks down between contact hours and autonomous work hours (outside of class) for 15 weeks. The workload is based on the allocation of 1 ECTS = 25 hours of work, divided between autonomous work and contact hours. For example, a course with 6 ECTS corresponds to 150h, if it has 60h of contact, the other 90h are autonomous work. The Higher Professional Technician course in Quality, Environmental and Safety Management can run during the day and/or after work, depending on the number of students and demand. In recent years it has run exclusively during the day (mornings or afternoons).
