ApresentaçãoPresentationThe curricular unit Coaching and Mentoring is part of the Postgraduate Course in Social and Organisational Psychology at ISLA Gaia. Its main objective is to provide students with a deep understanding of the concepts, processes, and practical applications of coaching and mentoring, which are essential tools for personal, professional, and organisational development. Over the 12-hour program, students will explore the origins and evolution of these concepts, understand the main differences and similarities between coaching and mentoring, and develop key skills for their application in organisational and social contexts. Through active methodologies such as simulations, role-plays, and case study analysis, this course aims to foster an experiential learning environment, encouraging critical reflection and effective intervention abilities for future professionals in this field.

The role of the coach and mentor in personal and organisational development. 2. Core Competencies of Coaches and Mentors Essential competencies: active listening, effective communication, empathy, ethics, and confidentiality. Models and Styles of Coaching and Mentoring. 3. Processes and Tools in Coaching and Mentoring Stages of the coaching and mentoring process. Practical tools: goal setting (SMART), constructive feedback, action planning, and follow-up. 4. Practical Application and Case Studies Simulations and role-plays of coaching and mentoring sessions. Analysis of real cases. Reflection on challenges and opportunities in these processes.
