ApresentaçãoPresentationThe Critical Thinking course, integrated into the Higher Professional Technical Course in Accounting and Management, aims to develop skills in analyzing, interpreting, and rigorously evaluating information, promoting critical reflection and reasoned argumentation. Its scope of intervention includes identifying fallacies, analyzing reasoning, and constructing sound arguments—essential skills for informed decision-making in academic, professional, and social contexts. Due to its cross-curricular nature, this course reinforces students' adaptability, autonomy, and responsibility, adding value to their technical training in accounting and management.

ProgramaProgrammeIntroduction to Critical Thinking: truth, validity, knowledge, reason, argument. Concept and construction of Logic. Deductive arguments. Inductive arguments. Arguments from analogy. Causal arguments. Fallacies. Rhetorical devices. Norms and obstacles to critical thinking.

ObjectivosObjectivesKnowledge: Acquire fundamental concepts related to critical thinking, namely, truth, validity, knowledge, reason, and argument; understand reasoning structures and identify logical fallacies. Skills: Develop the ability to analyze, evaluate, and reconstruct arguments; reflect in a structured, comprehensive, and in-depth manner; consider ideas and concepts critically and with reason. Abilities: Adopt an active and engaged observer; communicate clearly, authentically, and consistently; express and defend one's own points of view; listen to and interpret different perspectives, fostering a deep understanding of the concepts under discussion.
