ApresentaçãoPresentationThis course aims to present and speculatively develop, with practical implications, the main models and techniques of development and HR management from the perspective of power and politics in organizations. At the same time, it intends to analyze and discuss the methodologies for practical action in organizations in the field of more strategic and political HR management, and to develop critical thinking in this area.

ProgramaProgrammeSEMINAR ON THE POWER OF HR II BY RICARDO BESSA MOREIRA: 1. Introductory approach. Perspectives on people management in organizations: historical-conceptual framework from the perspective of the political factor in organizations 1.1. From Personnel Management to People Management (Hard and Soft Skills): integrative synthesis between results orientation and people orientation (parallel to the theme of formal and informal power) 1.2. The different perspectives of the human resources management model (organizational strategy and human resources strategy): Managing with power. 2. The articulation between development and strategy and human resources management policies: Power and human resources management from a perspective of future challenges 2.1. Human Resources Management and the psychological contract 2.2 Human Resources Management, power and organizational justice 3. The power of HR and conflict management in Portugal (a doctoral thesis as a starting point)

ObjectivosObjectives- Analyze and interpret the concept of human resource management and compare different perspectives on people management from a political standpoint; - Analyze the instruments, approaches, and processes used in human resource management and development, highlighting the advantages and limitations of managing with and without power; - Articulate people management and development practices with the HR and organizational strategy from a systemic, political, and conflict management perspective. - Apply the acquired knowledge to the diagnosis and solution of human resource management and development problems.
