    The aim of this course is to enable students to connect with working life through the interaction between academic education and the needs of companies/institutions.   Alternatively, the aim of this course is to introduce the spirit and methodology of work for the realization of a project, stimulating entrepreneurial capacity and creating skills so that students are intervening in the performance of their professional activity.

    INTERNSHIP: 1. Organization of the process of placing students in internships; 2. Definition of the internship location and its period; 3. Formalization of the internship: elaboration of the protocol, identification of the external advisor, elaboration of the work plan together with the institution, definition of the general objectives of the internship; 4. Preparing to integrate the internship location: orientation sessions; 5. Integration in the regular activities of the organization/institution, within the scope of the respective valences and teams; 6. Internship report on the work carried out and that includes the characterization of the organization where the internship took place; 7. Public defense of the Report on the activities carried out within the scope of the internship and critical assessment.   APPLIED PROJECT: -Elaboration of the Applied Project Proposal; -Realization and presentation of an Applied Project that presupposes the resolution of a concrete problem.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    The generic objective is the development of “know how to do” and learning in a work context. The following are specific objectives: - Application of theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during academic training; - Facilitate the professional insertion of the future graduate in Tourism Management in the labour market; - Testing practices adjusted to the needs of the labour market; - Assess the intern's interest and profile for exercising a profession in Tourism and their availability to perform different tasks, depending on the areas in question.   Alternatively, the student can develop a Project throughout the semester that includes the integration of the various knowledge and skills acquired by him/her throughout their academic career to provide an effective link between theory and practice and to develop the spirit of innovation and initiative in students that contributes to boosting local/regional or national tourist activity.

    By combining these innovative methodologies, teachers can create a rich and meaningful learning experience in the curriculum unit, effectively preparing students for professional practice: - Experiential learning: Encouraging students to learn through practical experience during the internship, reflecting on their experiences and identifying lessons learnt and areas for development; - Mentoring: Assigning mentors to students during the internship to provide individualised guidance, feedback and support for professional and academic development; - Reflection: Incorporating reflection activities, such as internship diaries, reflective essays or group discussions, to help students process their internship experiences, identify new perspectives and apply theoretical concepts to practice.

    Dada a natureza integradora e transversal, a avaliação a esta unidade curricular apresenta formatos distintos, processando-se por intermédio de apresentação, discussão e defesa de um relatório perante um júri, constituído para o efeito e, do trabalho desenvolvido na instituição de estágio.

    A avaliação desta unidade curricular varia de acordo com a tipologia de trabalho.

     

    Estágio Curricular

    • Análise da avaliação realizada pelo supervisor da organização/entidade/empresa de acordo com modelo

    • Avaliação do professor orientador de estágio

    • Avaliação do Relatório de Estágio e respetiva apresentação

    • Componente formal; qualidade; adequação das análises/tarefas efetuadas; bibliografia; processamento da informação/conhecimentos recolhidos/originados

     

    Projeto Aplicado

    Avaliação final do projeto (por três docentes), após apresentação oral, constituindo-se como critérios:

    • A avaliação do trabalho na sua componente formal, em termos de qualidade, referências bibliográficas, processamento da informação recolhida e originada, aplicabilidade dos conhecimentos adquiridos conseguida

    • Apresentação e defesa do trabalho

     

    Os alunos desenvolvem o Projeto Aplicado ou o Estágio Curricular com a ponderação de 100% da classificação final.
