Management of Performance

Human Resources Management
  • ApresentaçãoPresentation
The Performance Management Course Unit is part of the Human Resources Management area and focuses on the study and application of performance evaluation and management systems in organizations. It approaches performance evaluation as a comprehensive management system and performance management as a continuous process, which includes goal setting, feedback, assessment, and individual development through the Individual Development Plan (IDP). The areas of focus include the design, implementation, and monitoring of evaluation processes, the role of evaluators, traditional and modern methods, and 360-degree feedback. This course unit is relevant to the bachelor's degree program because it prepares students for a core competency in people management: designing and conducting rigorous, fair, and development-oriented evaluation processes. It integrates theory and practice and fosters skills in analysis, research, critical thinking, and communication.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
Students are expected to acquire and/or develop skills in analysis and synthesis, research, critical thinking, and written and oral communication. To develop these skills, the following teaching and learning methodologies will be used: 1. Expository, to present the theoretical framework of the subject; 2. Active, namely through: Project Based Learning, with the development of a project to design a performance appraisal process; case studies and practical exercises, which allow concepts to be applied to real or simulated situations; gamification, with game-based activities that promote student engagement and motivation; development of work in the classroom, which allows for constant feedback from the lecturer; flipped classroom, at certain times, with prior study of the content and class time dedicated to its application and discussion; 3. Self-study, related to the student's autonomous work.
