ApresentaçãoPresentationThis course unit provides a broad understanding of the post-production process in video and film. Students will learn the technical skills and creative techniques needed to edit, color grade, add visual effects, and finalize audio for films and videos. The course combines practical projects and software training to equip students with comprehensive post-production skills.

ProgramaProgramme1. History of cinematographic editing, from silent cinema to the present. Assembly Theories - The silent cinema and the historical avant-garde. - Classic cinema and modern cinema. - New Hollywood. - The MTV style, from experimental to contemporary cinema. - Cinema today and digital games. 2. Adobe Première CS5 / DaVinci Resolve advanced principles and concepts: - basic editing, transitions and effects; animation; text and credits; color correction; audio; - case studies of advanced options; - execution of practical exercises in class; - editing students' projects. 3. Adobe After Effects CS5 / DaVinci Resolve principles and advanced concepts: - basic animation and effects; creating text; exploration of the animation presets; masks; - shape layers; color correction; use of 3D. - Execution of practical exercises. 4. ObjectivosObjectivesAt the end of the course unit the student should be able to: 1. Assimilate and apply knowledge related to video and sound editing. 2. Use audiovisual editing tools and understand the conventional assembly rules. 3. Distinguish and apply the stages of implementing an audiovisual post-production process. Understand the studio production process. 4. Develop a critical sense through reading and viewing audiovisual products. Understand, within the History of Cinema, the creative changes and technical developments since silent cinema. 5. Learn the principles and techniques of color grading/adjustment. 6 . Apply the technical skills of motion design by manipulating tools and developing critical and creative capacity.

MetodologiaMethodologyGiven that this course unit is a theoretical and practical and practical laboratory, the teaching methodology focuses on the exposure of each theme in detail using a projector showing examples, followed by practical exercises of application, experimentation, and testing in a laboratory context. Assessment methodology: Students choose between Continuous Assessment (1) or Final Assessment (2). 1. Continuous Assessment: - Practical work (with Timeline); 40%; - Practical work (with Timeline); 50%; - Attendance and participation in classes; 10%; 2. Final Assessment: Practical Global Assessment Test (GAT); 100%; All students who have not successfully completed the assessment can take a final practical exam at thetime of assessment defined by the institution.
