    The curricular unit aims to prepare students to better analyze and understand sustainable behavior, and to develop transversal and technical skills, necessary for them to be able to build an integrated vision of the main aspects that contribute to the development of sustainable and socially responsible behaviors, in an organizational context. In this context, the objective is to enhance its capacity to act in organizations and society, particularly in the challenges of the transition to a green society, committed to the social, environmental and economic pillars of organizational and societal sustainability. The three structuring conceptual dimensions of the UC are: Foundations of Sustainability; Sustainable Behavior; Corporate Social Responsibility.

    Class 1: Fundamentals of Sustainability 1. Introduction to sustainability;2. The three pillars of sustainability: environmental, social and economic;3. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs);4. Global and local challenges. Exercise. Class 2: Sustainable Behavior 1. Factors and barriers that influence sustainable behavior;2. Theories of Sustainable Behavior; 3.  Strategies to promote sustainable behaviors.Exercise. Class 3: Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) 1. CSR concepts and models;2. CSR and competitive advantage; 3. Sustainability metrics and reports. Exercise. Class 4: Integration and Practical Application  1. Final exercise: Development of a sustainability plan for an organization;2. Presentation of projects and critical reflection.
  • ObjectivosObjectives
    The Learning Objectives (LO) are: LO1: develop skills that allow learning throughout life LO2: develop and deepen students' knowledge for other stages and realities LO3: develop the capacity for critical and articulated thinking LO4: reflect on the VUCA world in which we live, the socio-cultural, environmental and global conflicts that mark the present day LO5: understand the transversality of sustainable behavior and sustainability in itself LO6: understand and incorporate the above-mentioned objectives into the larger framework of the social responsibility of the organizational fabric, towards the lines of strategic development of societies. At the end of the course, students will have developed transversal skills, such as: communication (active listening, giving feedback), teamwork, creativity, adaptability and leadership.

  • MetodologiaMethodology
    The teaching-learning methodology includes expository and participatory methodologies, promoting students’ proximity to society and organizations. This methodology includes theoretical-practical classes organized by thematic content according to the program, with the direct involvement of students in the problematization and debate of content, complemented by the completion of a project that unfolds in four stages, accompanying the four teaching periods.Students are encouraged to apply theoretical content to their experiences.The theoretical presentation of the program content aims to provide students with the most up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of the topics covered, thus facilitating the basis for achieving the learning objectives.
