ISLA Gaia Delegation Visited Cape Verde to Strengthen Ties with the University of Cape Verde and Explore New Opportunities for Academic Collaboration.

Between June 30th and July 4th, a delegation from ISLA – the Polytechnic Institute of Management and Technology – conducted an international mission to Cape Verde, aiming to strengthen cooperation with the University of Cape Verde and explore new opportunities for academic and institutional collaboration. The visit focused on a strategic meeting with senior representatives from UniCV, including Vice-Rector Jorge Tavares and other academic leaders. The meeting allowed for the continuation of the cooperation agreement established in 2022 and the preparation of new joint projects. A highlight was the technological entrepreneurship project that will involve Portugal, Mozambique, and Cape Verde, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. The ISLA Gaia delegation also met with other Cape Verdean institutions, including the Lusófona University of Cape Verde and Jean Piaget University, as well as business entities such as the consulting firm BTOC, ABAC - Business Angels Association of Cape Verde, and Cabo Verde Digital. The mission was led by Firmino Silva (Director of the Organic Research Unit), Marco Lamas (Coordinator of the Business & Innovation Lab), Joaquim Silva (General Project Supervisor), Helena Gonçalves (Researcher), and Paulo Furtado (Coordinator of the Institutional Relations and Mobility Office).
