A solidarity initiative promoted by ISLA Gaia students at Santa Isabel Care Home.
On November 25, students from the 1st and 2nd years of the CTeSP Tourism Management and Hotel and Catering Management programmes at ISLA Gaia, accompanied by Professor Ricardo Lanção, took part in a solidarity initiative by preparing and serving a Christmas solidarity lunch at Santa Isabel Care Home.
The main objectives of this initiative were to reinvent the daily menu by enhancing its presentation and garnishes without altering its nutritional components, as well as to raise students’ awareness of social responsibility and care for others. The initiative also promoted intergenerational interaction, contributing to the emotional and social well-being of the residents.
This simple yet meaningful gesture provided moments of sharing and reinforced values such as empathy, solidarity, and the true spirit of Christmas.
