Eco-Schools
Eco-Schools certification is an international environmental education program promoted by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and implemented in Portugal by ABAAE – Associação Bandeira Azul de Ambiente e Educação (Blue Flag Association for Environment and Education). The main objective is to encourage, support, and recognize the work of schools in promoting sustainability and improving their environmental performance.
ISLA Gaia received its Eco-Schools flag in 2023/2024 and 2024/2025, and is now in the process of receiving its third flag and becoming an Eco-Campus in the future.

Student-Athlete Seal
The Student-Athlete Seal is a distinction awarded by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ) to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) that demonstrate good practices in coordinating the academic and sporting careers of their student-athletes.
The aim is to recognize the merit of students and enable them to balance their studies, training, and competition, while also promoting academic, sporting, and post-career success, as well as encouraging HEIs to support their students throughout their journey.
ISLA Gaia received its Student-Athlete Seal in the 2nd edition 2024-2026.

PCA2030 Certification
PCA2030 is an international certification program promoted by UNITAR (United Nations Institute for Training and Research), operated through the CIFAL Flanders center, and focused on helping organizations structurally integrate the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
The acronym PCA represents three levels of ambition:
- P – SDG Pioneer
- C – SDG Champion
- A – SDG Ambassador
ISLA is currently in the process of certification for the first phase, with the goal of becoming an SDG Pioneer.
