    This multidisciplinary academic program offers a comprehensive overview of the tourism industry. Based on both theoretical and practical components, the course prepares students for the effective management of destinations, companies, and tourism services, equipping them with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the dynamic and competitive field of tourism.

    The curriculum has a broad foundation, covering areas such as tourism marketing, destination planning, hotel operations management, sustainability in tourism, among others. Thus, students have the opportunity to develop a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities presented by the tourism industry and explore its various facets.

    The Bachelor's degree includes practical projects, internships, and experiential learning opportunities that allow students to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, working closely with companies and organizations in the sector to ensure all students have access to workplace learning experiences.

    The power of networking and professional relationships is believed to enhance students' success; therefore, a variety of events, workshops, and networking opportunities are offered for students to interact with industry professionals, develop contacts, and explore career opportunities.

    Additionally, ISLA recognizes the importance of sustainability in tourism and is committed to empowering students to become responsible and conscious leaders.     The study plan for the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Management at ISLA comprises 180 ECTS, divided into six academic semesters of 30 ECTS each. The foundational training components included in the program (namely in the areas of Tourism and Leisure, Management and Administration, Foreign Languages, Sociology, Information Technology, and Geography) provide graduates with the technical and scientific knowledge necessary to pursue further studies through a 2nd Cycle program in multiple specialization fields, not necessarily limited to their main area of study.

    The 20 ECTS available in the curricular units of Internship/Applied Project I and II offer a valuable opportunity for students to gain practical experience, develop relevant skills, and build a solid foundation for future success in their professional careers.

    The bachelor's degree allows for postgraduate studies progression in accordance with the structure of the Portuguese Higher Education System, as outlined by NARIC and presented in section 8 of the Diploma Supplement.
